What is a Short Film?

 According to the Oscars, a short film is any film that is under 40 minutes in length including credits, however I believe that this may in fact be too long for such a project.  Short films typically constitute of a short, punchy narrative, following a small cast of characters, who are usually portrayed by amateur actors who may not be getting paid.  However, in contrast to the mainstream, high-budget, and formulaic feature-length films (that don't currently exist due to an unknown virus of unknown origin), short films can be much more experimental, tackling concepts in a bizarre, expressionistic manner, further allowing for show-don't-tell to apply in an incredible meaningful and poignant way. These short films can also be made by anyone for any purpose, though the outreach of short projects is substantially limited as the people who are most likely to watch them are film fanatics. Notetaking Styles Comparison

  While notetaking on paper has it's advantages, I think it's safe to say that notetaking online has far more advantages, many of which are personal, but count nonetheless. For starters, physical notetaking is useful for really only one reason: you obtain a physical copy of notes that is very easy to access and view. Other than that clear advantage, it's really not that beneficial. For starters, you need to organise these notes manually and that can take time. Furthermore, if your handwriting becomes a bit messy, then good luck reading it when you need to revise from it, and, linked to this, if you're like me and a bit of a perfectionist (or OCD I really don't know which one it is), you'll hate when your work looks messy and unorganised.  This is more of a test actually, but it's still useful. In case this is the last remaining piece of civilisation in 500 years, this blog will describe my epic battle to create a short 5 minute film.
